Azure Plan Transfer Process
This article is designed to provide Customers with an overview of the process of transferring an Azure Plan, Azure Savings Plan subscription and/or Reservations from another distributor to Crayon/rhipe through PRISM. Within the below process, task ownership is highlighted in green and bold.
Prerequisites
- The end customer must be located in the same country/region as the Reseller acquiring the subscription.
- The end customer must have an active Tenant in PRISM with the status Normal. Please see this guide here for connecting a tenant to PRISM.
-
The customer must have an active Azure Plan subscription under the Tenant in PRISM. Example shown below
Transfer Process
To transfer a customer's Azure Plan, Azure Savings Plan subscription and/or Reservations, please use the following process:
-
Customer to contact Crayon/rhipe advising of the following information:
- Their CSP Company Name with Microsoft.
- The Contact Person's Email Address in their organisation that is in their tenant who is asking for the Transfer.
- The CSP Reseller Name (Partner) & Microsoft ID.
- Provide a list of Azure Subscriptions and/or Reservations that they wish to be transferred over to the new Reseller. The actual Azure Plan transfers over so all subscriptions, RI’s & Savings Plans will transfer (there is no choice).
-
Reseller is to submit a ticket via email to tech.support.apac@crayon.com with the following information:
- End Customer Name and .onmicrosoft.com domain.
- Company Name of current CSP Reseller
- The Contact Person's Email Address in their organisation that is in their tenant who is asking for the Transfer.
- The current CSP Reseller's (Partner) Microsoft ID
- A list of Azure Subscriptions and/or Reservations to be transferred.
- Crayon Partner Support will validate the information and once deemed valid, will submit an Azure Transfer Request via Crayon/rhipe's Partner Centre to the current CSP Reseller.
- Current CSP Resellerr will be required to approve the request via Partner Centre to release the subscription.
- PRISM will then sync the subscription/s, which will generally show within 1 hour.
-
CustomerGlobal Admin will need to create and provide Crayon with a Global Admin account which Crayon will use to provision the required permissions; this is required in order for Crayon to provide support and for Crayon/rhipe to provide negotiated discounts to the customer.
Note: The Customer’s Global Admin will have the ability to delete the permission once established, Crayon Customer Support will confirm once the process is completed. - PRISM will then invoice the Customer for the subscription on the next invoice for usage recorded once/as the subscription has transferred.
